The students who used the AI:

WARNING:

This study was conducted only on Freshmen at Harvard (see the study population segment of the Methods section). While the study authors implied that it was applicable to all student everywhere, there is an enormous difference between the dedication and work ethic of a college age student and many younger students.

The fact that the authors used Harvard students exclusively also introduces an enormous selection bias. Not to mention that it does not say what “classroom activities” the AI replicated. Logical deduction gives it a high probability that it was a straight-up lecture.

However, for students who are dedicated to understanding - or teachers attempting to grow their own knowledge - this is good information.
